Halliburton announced the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement with PETRONAS Suriname Exploration & Production BV and offshore drilling company Valaris. The main objective is to accelerate the development of assets in Suriname’s deep waters through early integration of technical capabilities.

In this regard, the initiative brings the three companies together from the earliest phases of the development cycle. This makes it possible to align project planning with operational execution, improving readiness and reducing risks at critical stages.

For its part, Halliburton contributes its expertise in subsurface evaluation technologies and well construction, while PETRONAS provides its knowledge of deep basins. Valaris complements the alliance with its offshore drilling capability.

Likewise, this integrated approach connects geological evaluation with field development planning and digital well construction. As a result, it provides greater visibility into the workflow, from the initial concept through execution.

Focus on efficiency and decision-making

According to Shannon Slocum, Halliburton’s Chief Operating Officer, the collaboration reflects confidence in an early engagement model that helps ensure execution readiness from the outset.

In addition, the integration of data and technical capabilities enables more accurate planning. This helps improve decision-making and ensure consistent execution throughout the project life cycle.

Finally, the alliance seeks to maximize the value of energy assets in Suriname. To that end, it combines technology, operational experience, and drilling capabilities in a collaborative model focused on sustainable outcomes.
