Cadeler Deploys Wind Mover Vessel on Its First Offshore Wind Project

The Wind Mover vessel begins operations installing 15 MW turbines at the Baltic Power park in Poland.
Buque Wind Mover

Cadeler’s Wind Mover vessel has begun its first project within the offshore wind sector following its delivery, transporting and installing turbines at the Baltic Power park, located in the Baltic Sea. From the port of Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm, the vessel’s team is collaborating with Vestas and Baltic Power to install high-capacity turbines.

Impact of the Baltic Power Wind Farm in Poland

The Baltic Power project represents a significant step in Poland’s energy transition. With a total capacity of 1.2 GW, the wind farm will be able to supply electricity to more than 1.5 million households.

It is estimated to cover approximately 3% of the country’s electricity demand, reducing approximately 2.8 million tons of CO₂ emissions each year. This development reinforces the country’s progress toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

15 MW Turbines: Key to the Project

The park incorporates Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines, considered among the largest currently in operation. Their blades reach 115 meters, which allows for maximizing wind energy capture.

This type of technology requires specialized logistical solutions such as the Wind Mover vessel, capable of installing this equipment under offshore conditions.

A Boost to the Future of Offshore Wind Energy

Finally, the entry into operation of the Wind Mover vessel strengthens the industry’s capacity to execute large-scale offshore wind projects. The combination of specialized vessels and high-power turbines is accelerating the development of renewable energy in Europe.
