Boskalis awarded decommissioning contract by Shell UK

The company will execute more than 100 days of offshore operations to remove subsea infrastructure in the United Kingdom.

Boskalis Subsea Services has been selected by Shell UK Limited to carry out an extensive offshore decommissioning project, representing the first specific decommissioning contract between the two companies.

The agreement is valued at several million pounds and includes more than 100 days of offshore operations aboard the CSV Boka Northern Ocean, from which complex tasks for the removal and recovery of subsea infrastructure will be executed.

What is the scope of work?

Planned activities include site surveys, removal of concrete mattresses, grout bags, pipelines, umbilicals, and piles, as well as the recovery of debris and associated items. The goal is to leave the affected areas in safe and environmentally sustainable conditions.
