Bodycote, a global provider of advanced heat treatment technologies, announced the construction of a new plant in Apodaca, within the Monterrey metropolitan area, Mexico. The facility aims to expand the company’s operational capacity to meet growing demand in Mexico and the southern United States.
Furthermore, this expansion responds to the boom in nearshoring strategies in the region, allowing clients to optimize logistical processes and improve the resilience of their supply chains. The company will maintain its global quality standards and its focus on specialized technical services.
The new plant will be integrated into Bodycote’s existing network in Mexico, which currently has facilities in Silao, San Luis Potosí, and Guaymas. With this addition, the company seeks to offer greater operational flexibility and more efficient options for its industrial clients.
On the other hand, the growth of manufacturing in Mexico has driven the need for advanced thermal services. In this context, Monterrey is positioned as a strategic point to strengthen regional coverage.
High-precision heat treatment technologies
The facilities will be equipped with modern technologies oriented toward heat treatment processes such as carburizing, carbonitriding, nitriding, and nitrocarburizing. These processes allow for improved surface hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue performance of critical components.
Likewise, these solutions maintain the core strength of the parts, which is key for sectors such as automotive, industrial, and medical.
The new center will operate under standardized practices and high energy efficiency technologies. This will ensure consistent quality in processes, along with an improvement in operational performance.
In parallel, Bodycote has indicated that it will work in advance with its clients to facilitate homologation processes and capacity planning, reinforcing its collaborative approach.
The plant is expected to become operational by the end of 2026, with a progressive increase in capacity based on demand.
During the second quarter of that same year, the company plans to conduct site visits as part of the operational preparation.
