• Forge Tech, Forge Bonding Repairs

Does anyone have any experience with using Forge Tech to install repair patches on active leaks (shell or roof)?

We have some crude tanks that have small leaks on the external roof and currently being managed with temporary patches that tend to last about 1-2 years. We are wondering if Forge Tech repairs are more reliable and what it was like working with them. Thanks.

We have utilized Forge Tech before in a few scenarios; however, not yet for an active EFR/IFR leak. We recently had an opportunity to use them to seal (2) cracked EFR leg welds. It seemed like a great solution; however, their price tag led to us exploring alternative options using an epoxy/belzona composite type repair.

Yes, they are pricy. The mob cost is the killer for us, here in Hawaii. We have not yet used them, but thinking about it. We have a crude tank due for out-of-service in a couple more years and trying to maintain a few roof leaks until then. The 1212 and Thiokol spec we discussed seems to be a good option, but since we are not blasting, it seems to last about 1-2 years. But doing this a couple more times will probably still be more economical than Forge Tech. Thank you again for replying.
