The NGEx Minerals company announced the discovery of high-quality gold, silver and copper deposits at a location in the Vicuña district of San Juan, Argentina. This information was disclosed when reporting results from seven diamond drill holes this season at the former Potro Cliffs project.
Gold, silver and copper deposits: a great discovery
The results have confirmed a new significant discovery of high quality gold, silver and copper, which has been named “Lunahuasi”. This is the fourth greenfield discovery made by the Lundin Group in the Vicuña district, thus adding to the deposits previously found, such as Filo del Sol, Los Helados and Josemaría.
This new discovery represents an important advance for the mining industry in the region and opens up promising perspectives for the future.
Lunahuasi is located approximately 6 km northeast of Filo del Sol, along the same main structural corridor that also controls mineralization at Los Helados, located 9 km further northeast.
So far this year, a total of eight drilling wells have been completed, of which two are located on the plateau, which corresponds to the upper part of the system, while the remaining six are located in the valley located 750 meters below the plateau.
The six holes in the valley revealed multiple vein intersections with high mineral concentrations. Instead, the two wells located on the plateau drilled a distal alteration and appear to be on the edges of the system, according to the reports provided.
