The Sura Foundation opened the call for the 2023 Nicanor Restrepo Santamaría Scholarship, one of the most anticipated by applicants for educational programs in Colombia.
This initiative, aimed at people who stand out for their social commitment and who wish to transform their territory of origin, seeks for young people to start or continue with technical, technological, professional studies or master’s degrees in areas related to economic, social and human sciences in high quality accredited higher education institutions in Colombia.
“We are committed to being co-responsible for the society of which we are a part, generating new educational opportunities that promote the autonomy and inclusion of people, in accordance with the dynamics and challenges of each territory. This call allows us to understand that, to talk about well-being and development, it is necessary to address comprehensive transformation processes based on education,” said Tatiana Henao, coordinator of Educational Management of the Foundation Sura in Colombia.

Those interested in applying for the Scholarship must meet the following requirements:
1. People of socioeconomic level 1, 2, 3 or 4.
2. Colombians or foreigners residing in the country who have lived in the country for a year.
3. Have an interest in beginning or continuing studies in the levels and areas mentioned above.
4. The applicant must not have a previous professional career if his application is for this title. This condition also applies to mastery.
5. The person must demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.5 to apply.
6. The scholarship applies only to study one program.
7. Studies must start no later than the second semester of 2024.
8. To apply for master’s degrees, applicants must have two years of certified work experience.
Since 2015, the Sura Foundation has accompanied a total of 86 scholarship holders, selected in previous editions, from 15 departments of the country, to accompany the realization of life projects from being, knowing and doing, that enhance the capacities of future professionals in their contribution to the construction of competitive scenarios for the country.
