The Eve Air Mobility company, controlled by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, indicated that it has completed a test in a wind tunnel of its vertical takeoff and landing vehicle – eVTOL for its acronym in English.

“Eve Air Mobility recently completed a wind tunnel test of its eVTOL vehicle. Conducted in a wind tunnel near Lucerne, Switzerland, the test used a scale model of Eve’s eVTOL , which would enter service in 2026,” the company said in a statement.

The company started as a project within Embraer in 2017 and three years later it became independent.

Eve said the main goal of the test was to investigate and validate how components, including the fuselage, turbines, wings, tail and other surfaces, would perform in flight.

The future of urban mobility: Eve Air Mobility prepares to launch its eVTOL in 2026

“The information we obtained during this phase helped us to refine the technical solutions of our vehicle before we engaged in the production of prototypes. Our goal is to design, produce and certify an aerodynamic and efficient vehicle that will be used for a variety of aerial urban movements. said Luiz Valentini, Eve Air Mobility’s chief technology officer.

Eve’s engineers will use the information gathered from the test to continue developing the vehicles for optimum performance and passenger comfort, the company explained.

The vehicle is 100% electric and has a range of 100 kilometers. At first it will have a pilot, but in the future it will be autonomous, Eve said. Shares of the company on Wall Street traded almost unchanged after the announcement, at $8.09 per share, later falling back to $8.04.
