The president of the company Energía Argentina SA (Enarsa), Agustín Gerez, informed that the works of the President Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline are advancing as established and that “if there is no unforeseen event, the Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline will be finished before next winter”.

In a statement, Gerez highlighted that “more than 6 months after the start of the construction of the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline, and with 4 months remaining for its completion, Energía Argentina highlights the progress made from the joint work between the company, the contractors and the different areas of the National State and the provinces involved so that our country can count on this important work within the established deadlines”.

“Thanks to the great effort of all the parties involved, in particular the workers who carry out this work, we are complying with the ambitious schedule that we set for ourselves and if there is no unforeseen event, we will be able to meet the objective that we set ourselves and put into operation the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline before the start of next winter,” Gerez pointed out.

The executive stressed that “this work is essential for the future of our country, as it allows the substitution of imports through the greater production of gas from Vaca Muerta.”

The President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline is being built simultaneously on all its fronts and the most modern technology has been incorporated to reduce work times, such as automatic welders, which are used for the first time in Argentina and allow for around 2,000 meters of pipeline. welds per day; and double-joint welding plants, which make it possible to weld two 12-meter pipes (the size they arrive from the factory) to form a single 24-meter piece.

Likewise, in all sections, parade tasks (placement of pipes next to the trace), trenching, pipe lowering and covering are carried out.

The Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline extends from the Neuquén town of Tratayén to Salliqueló, in the province of Buenos Aires, crossing Río Negro and La Pampa, with an extension of 573 kilometers.
