The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) sent the National Electric Power Agency (Aneel) a series of reports that will subsidize the next auctions of electric power transmission facilities in the country.

The R1 reports prepared by the Energy Research Company (EPE) recommend approximately 6,000 km of new transmission lines. Additionally, 11 new Basic Network substations would be included, projects that would require investments of R$ 17.5 billion.

The MME sent reports on the Technical Detail of the Reference Alternative (R2) and the Definition of the Route Guide and Socio-environmental Analysis (R3). Also, on the Characterization of the Transmission System (R4) and on the Estimation of Land Costs (R5) of the works.

In total, 144 reports were prepared under the coordination of the Department of Energy Planning of the Ministry of Planning and Energy Transition of the MME in these four areas.

Most of the investments are related to the reports that make up the “Generation Flow Study in the Northeast Region, volumes 1, 2 and 3”. Their objective is to propose structural reinforcements in the National Interconnected System (SIN).

The material even helps solve local restrictions to connect future generation projects, as well as expand the interchange capacity between the North/Northeast and Southeast/Central-West regions and increase the reliability of the cargo service.
