Chinese state-owned giant CNOOC has started production from the jointly developed oilfields: Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4. These projects are located in the East South China Sea, with an average water depth of around 90 meters.

The main production facilities of the project include 2 production drilling platforms and 1 unmanned wellhead platform.

According to the company, the start-up of 48 production wells is expected. The project is expected to reach its maximum production of approximately 35,500 barrels of crude oil per day in 2024.

The Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 joint oilfield development project employs the first newly built unmanned platform in the East South China Sea, which has been equipped with the remote production function in typhoon mode

At the same time, the project has planned a carbon dioxide gas injection well for reinjection and storage of carbon dioxide produced by oil fields. It is the first offshore Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) demonstration project in China.

“Commissioning of Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 joint oilfield development project marks a breakthrough for unmanned, less-manned and intelligent offshore oilfield construction in China . And it is a major achievement of the low-carbon, green transition of offshore oil fields.”
