Honeywell announced an innovative new Ethanol-to-Fuel (ETJ) processing technology, which enables producers to convert corn, cellulose or sugar-based ethanol into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Depending on the type of ethanol feedstock used, aviation fuel produced from Honeywell’s conversion process can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80% over a total life cycle, compared to with petroleum-based aviation fuel.

Honeywell’s ‘Ready now’ technology uses high-performance catalysts and heat management capabilities to maximize production efficiency, resulting in a cost-effective and less carbon-intensive aviation fuel.

Oil refiners and transportation fuel producers can also benefit from Honeywell’s ETJ design, which is created to allow conversion of current or inactive facilities into SAF production plants, potentially maximizing site use. and meet the growing market demand.
