Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) signed a collaboration agreement with Woodside Energy, so that workers join that company to acquire knowledge in exploration and production strategies.

Since March 3, 2017, the state production company entered into the Contract for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in the Trión contract area with the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) and Woodside Energy. In turn, the Joint Operating Agreement (AOC) was signed.

Under this agreement, Pemex will send workers to the Woodside offices in Houston, Texas, to perform technical functions. The Australian company agreed to receive them and cover travel expenses during the project and the term of the contract. Pemex will maintain the full payment of their salaries and benefits.

The commissioned personnel will develop a knowledge transfer program aimed at exploration and production specialists, which will be carried out within three months after the end of the collaborative project.
