This week a technical team from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) is documenting a 2.1 kilometer subway drilling in the coast of Tabasco, with the purpose of obtaining a Guinness Record.
According to Octavio Romero Oropeza, CEO of the company, this work was done to avoid damaging the environment, since the pipeline before reaching the beach and thanks to the directional drilling, will not be over the sea or on land, but will be subway, at a depth of 25 meters.
During a helicopter overflight in the area, the executive indicated that by executing the work a directional or subway drilling of 2.1 kilometers was achieved, “it is a distance that has not been achieved anywhere in the world. It is a very important work that protects the environment and we are registering it because it is a world record, we are documenting it for the Guinness Record,” explained Romero.
He also explained that, with the development of this infrastructure, more than 30 thousand barrels of oil will flow through this pipeline and contribute to the production of Petróleos Mexicanos.
The Rabasa Separation Battery has become important in Pemex’s projections for increased production, as it currently receives 17 thousand barrels of crude oil per day from the onshore field, and 23 thousand 500 barrels of oil per day, in addition to 30 million cubic meters of natural gas.
According to PEMEX projections, by 2024 the Rabasa Battery will become one of the most important oil complexes in Mexico, tripling its production by the end of the six-year term.
