According to Contreras, maintenance management is only one of the fundamental elements within the development of asset management, and he explains in detail through: definition of practical terms, objectives, functions, strategic maintenance plans, how to connect both to obtain effective and efficient results, guaranteeing the sustainability of the business.
“For as long as there have been companies, industries, there has always been asset management, but for the last thirty years or so, it can be considered an evolution of maintenance management,” explains Contreras Márquez.
Contreras Márquez is an aeronautical engineer, specialist in Project Management, Master in Mechanical Engineering, with postgraduate studies in Financial Management and Operations Management. He has more than thirty years of experience as a university professor, advisor in manufacturing industries, researcher in topics related to the efficiency of Maintenance Management, instructor and consultant for Latin America for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and INGEMAN, creator of OPTIM Software and author of three books related to Maintenance Management. He is currently the director of the Efficient Maintenance Academy.
