Utonomy has signed its first contract with Delgaz Grid to deploy smart pressure control technology in Romania. The agreement follows a competitive process and places the British company within one of the most important distribution networks in the country.
The intelligent pressure control contract
Through this project, the technology will be integrated into a pressure reduction station located in Resita, western Romania. For this purpose, the solution will be installed as an upgrade on existing regulators, which allows improving operational performance without replacing entire infrastructures.
Progressively, the initiative will begin with remote pressure set point adjustment via digital control platforms. digital control and connectivity and connectivity platforms. Subsequently, an intelligent system based on machine learning designed to anticipate demand, stabilize network pressure and reduce losses associated with leaks will be integrated.
According to available operational data, this type of advanced control has resulted in reduced methane emissions. methane emissions reductions in relevant percentages within other implementations. This aspect takes on special importance in the current European regulatory context, marked by the entry into force of the EU regulation aimed at reducing emissions in the energy sector.
With a network that combines modern assets and legacy systems, Delgaz Grid seeks solutions to extend the useful life of its facilities and raise safety and efficiency standards. In this scenario, the automation of pressure control is consolidated as an essential tool to meet environmental and operational objectives simultaneously.
From Utonomy’s perspective, this contract enhances its expansion strategy in continental Europe and opens the door to a wider deployment in the region. The company has previous experience in other markets, where its solutions have demonstrated compatibility with different types of regulators and operating conditions.
