The consortium led by OKEA ASA announced the discovery of oil oil discovery in the Knockando Fensfjord in the Knockando Fensfjord field, located in the Brage platform area, within production license 055 on the Norwegian continental shelf. Norwegian continental shelf.
Estimated oil reserves at Brage
The 31/4-A-15 D well, drilled from the existing facilities at Bragerevealed a 38.5 meter hydrocarbon column in Upper Jurassic formations with moderate to good reservoir quality.
Preliminary analyses estimate that, if the resource is oil, the recoverable volume would range between 0.5 and 1.5 million standard cubic meters. In the case of gas, it is estimated between 0.4 and 0.9 million cubic meters.
Development and analysis of future opportunities
The discovery was made in the context of development operations on the Talisker well, which has been active since January 11, 2026. Currently, the licensees-OKEA, Lime Petroleum, DNO, Petrolia NOCO and M Vest Energy-are evaluating opportunities to incorporate Knockando Fensfjord into existing production schemes at Brage.
Brage has been a key facility in the region since its approval in 1990, with a history of recent discoveries such as Talisker Cook/Statfjord in 2025 and Prince in the 31/4-A-23 G well.
Technical details of drilling
Technically, drilling reached 2,309 meters vertical depth, terminating in the Middle Jurassic Oseberg Formation. Data were collected during the discovery interval for subsequent geological analysis.
This discovery reinforces the potential of the North Sea as an active area for offshore exploration and production. offshore exploration and productionat a time when operators are looking to maximize the value of mature fields through existing infrastructure.
