DP World Constanța Port has upgraded its port infrastructure with the addition of two Liebherr mobile cranes, type LHM 600, configured for tandem lifting and advanced electric operation. The acquisition is a clear strengthening of the most important Black Sea terminal by enabling combined lifts of up to 400 tons.

The new cranes are equipped with electric propulsion systems that reduce emissions during operations. They also include back-up diesel engines to ensure continuity under any conditions. With the Sycratronic system from Liebherr’s Sycratronic systemSycratronic system, tandem lifting maneuvers are synchronized, maximizing safety and control.

Designed for multipurpose use, the LHM 600 can alternate between container handling, bulk cargo and heavy industrial projects without sacrificing efficiency. Such capability positions DP World Constanța as a logistics node adaptable to new cargo demands, including oversized goods such as wind turbines, industrial machinery and special equipment.

The terminal has double reinforced support platforms, specifically designed to maintain stability in heavy operations. These structural solutions were developed in collaboration between Liebherr and DP World’s technical team to respond to the particularities of the berthing site.

DP World Constanța is consolidating its position as a gateway for Eastern Europe thanks to its multimodal logistics network connecting sea, rail and road transport. The implementation of these cranes enhances its commitment to innovation and sustainability, values shared with Liebherr.

According to Marian Drăgoi, the terminal’s CEO, this investment reflects a long-term strategy focused on modernization and operational diversification. “It’s not just about technology, but about responding with agility to a constantly changing logistics environment,” he said.
