Strategic importance of Manzanillo

Manzanillo is a crucial point in Mexico’s trade for two main reasons:

  • Handles almost half of the country’ s containerized cargo, being the most active entry gateway
  • It is the key point for cargo from Asia and connects directly to the main industrial regions of central Mexico, such as the Bajío.

The new Manzanillo depot represents a strategic move by Mersk to capitalize on Mexico’s geographic position, improve the resilience of its supply chains and regional supply chains and offer its customers faster, more efficient and integrated logistics solutions.
