After almost three years of construction and progressive relocation, the company has completed the process of relocating its mechanical manufacturing from Kirchdorf an der Iller to Oberopfingen. The new facility integrates three industrial halls and two administrative buildings, adding more than 46,000 square meters to the existing infrastructure.

With more than 50 machines installed, including 20 new machines, the Oberopfingen site has positioned itself as a benchmark for automation and machining for hydraulic cylinders. The modern automated sawing center and the centralized cooling lubricant system are part of a strategy focused on efficiency, quality and scalability.

The plant operates under an energy management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 50001, and uses a combination of heat pump and photovoltaic installations that enable self-generation of electricity. It also has a heat recovery and industrial water treatment system that reduces environmental impact.

The new site employs around 550 people and enhances Liebherr’s presence in the region. The opening ceremony brought together management, local authorities and employees to celebrate a project that marks a new stage for the company’s industrial components segment.
