Fugro has successfully completed the geophysical and archaeological investigations required to support the development of the 330 MW offshore wind farm powered by Energia Wind 2020 in the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the first offshore wind fixed foundation offshore wind energy fixed-foundation offshore wind power projects in Italy, located about 22 kilometers off the coast of Rimini.
Offshore wind farm advances with Fugro data
As part of the assignment, Fugro deployed two specialized vessels to conduct detailed surveys of both the park site and the subsea cable export corridor. This strategy provided high-resolution data on seabed and subsurface conditions, helping to identify geotechnical risks and preserve key archaeological finds for the permitting process.
The company applied ultra-high-resolution seismic technologies and advanced geospatial techniques that will enable precise cable routing and optimize the design of the foundations foundations. This data is critical to ensure safe and environmentally responsible development.
