Glenfarne Alaska LNG, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Group, and Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company, have announced the signing of definitive agreements to support the advancement of the Alaska LNG project.

As part of the agreement, Baker Hughes will supply refrigerant compressors and power generation equipment essential to the essential for the gas treatment plant in the North Slope region. In addition, the company will make a direct strategic investment in the Alaska LNG project.

The development will be structured in two phases. The first includes an 807-mile pipeline that will transport gas from northern Alaska to the southern coast. The second phase includes the liquefaction terminal with an estimated export capacity of 20 million metric tons per year (MTPA). The final investment decision for this phase is projected for 2026.

Having Baker Hughes on board reaffirms the strength of the project and our goal of making Alaska LNG a global energy hub.

Alaska LNG has secured preliminary commitments for 11 MTPA with buyers in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, representing more than 60% of the volume needed to trigger the final investment decision.
