During 180 days, the U.S. firm CSA Ocean Sciences conducted an extensive initial environmental assessment in Mozambique waters. This project included ecological surveillance, atmospheric monitoring and oceanographic operations using specialized technology.

The marine environmental survey and integrated monitoring of Mozambique’s waters.

The CSA technical team deployed a dynamically positioned vessel from which they conducted water sampling, sediment extraction and biodiversity observations. Data collection also included acoustic records of marine fauna, current analysis and plankton trawls. At the same time, the following were installed and recovered meteocean buoys equipped with multidisciplinary sensors.

The results will allow establishing a baseline for environmental planning of future exploration and production activities. hydrocarbon exploration and production. Through the use of its Mitigation Suite strategy, CSA helps companies to anticipate and mitigate potential impacts, aligning with local environmental regulations and international best practices.

As part of the integrated approach, air quality measurements were performed using spectral and gravimetric methods to evaluate the presence of particulate and gaseous pollutants. These activities were carried out by scientific field personnel together with specialized operators.

CSA has increased its presence in regions such as East Africa, South America and the Pacific, consolidating its position as a reference consultant in long-term ocean monitoring. With more than 400 projects managed in the last five years, its technical expertise and operational capacity support solutions adapted to the demands of today’s offshore industry.
