The technology group Wärtsilä has renewed its Life Cycle Agreement with the Greek shipping company TMS Cardiff Gas for five years, covering the main engines of seven LNG carriers. The collaboration, signed during the third quarter of 2025, aims to strengthen the availability and operational reliability of the vessels in a context of regulatory pressure and high competitiveness in the global LNG market.

What services are included in the agreement?

  • Dynamic Maintenance Planning: Instead of fixed overhauls, maintenance is scheduled in a flexible and optimized way, based on actual engine usage. This extends the time between overhauls and saves on parts.
  • 24/7 Remote Operational Support: Wärtsilä experts can monitor and help solve problems from the ground at any time.
  • Expert Insight (Predictive Maintenance): Using real-time data, the system predicts potential failures before they occur. This allows a small problem to be repaired in a planned manner, avoiding a catastrophic failure that immobilizes the ship.

What is the benefit to both companies?

For TMS Cardiff, the agreement translates into maximizing the uptime of its ships, while maintaining the flexibility to plan maintenance and maintenance maintenance without affecting deliveries while reducing their long-term operating costs. For Wärtsilä, on the other hand, it is a way to build loyalty with an important customer and demonstrate the value of its high-level services, which go beyond selling an engine.
