During the second day of SLOM 2025 in Panama, the Colombian company BUZCA Soluciones de Ingeniería S.A. reaffirmed its participation in the development of maritime engineering projects and subsea pipelines in Latin America. In an interview with Inspenet, David Alfonso Ricardo Sanes, commercial and new business development director, shared the pillars that support its regional growth: technology, human talent and commitment to safety.

BUZCA at SLOM 2025: a presence with purpose

As a quasi-founding member of SLOM, the company takes advantage of this technical and commercial showcase to showcase its capabilities, establish strategic alliances and present its latest developments. From his stand, David Sanes emphasized that the human team is the company's main asset, and that its presence at SLOM allows it to strengthen ties with current and future clients in the region.

Technical evolution in the face of new port challenges

With more than 56 years of experience, BUZCA has evolved from an industrial diving company to become a multidisciplinary organization in marine, underwater and environmental engineering. This transformation has been accompanied by investments in software, specialized equipment and, above all, continuous staff training.

Sanes explained that the current demands of port terminals port terminals in Latin America require tailor-made technical responses, which has prompted the company to develop increasingly comprehensive solutions. Along this path, the company has established alliances with foreign and local firms, strengthening its capacity to respond and adapt to complex projects.

Subsea pipelines: BUZCA's technical speciality

One of the central themes of the interview was the company's consolidated experience in the installation and maintenance of subsea pipelines, one of the most critical areas of offshore engineering. Sanes pointed out that the company has developed methodologies that prioritize operational safety and environmental sustainability, from design to project execution.

To achieve this, they have vessels equipped with winches, specialized tools and a work system focused on risk anticipation. In addition, the technical staff has specific certifications, which guarantees compliance with international standards and the safe execution of the works.

Regional alliances and knowledge transfer

One of the greatest values of being present at events such as SLOM is the possibility of connecting directly with regional operators and international partners. BUZCA has been able to turn these interactions into concrete opportunities, as evidenced by its active participation in projects in Panama, Argentina and the Caribbean.

From conceptual stages, the company collaborates with clients to define needs, carry out technical studies and propose viable alternatives. This flexibility, coupled with operational experience, has consolidated BUZCA's image as an integral provider of offshore and onshore engineering solutions on the continent.

Regional vision with a solid foundation

With a solid organizational structure and a constantly evolving technical offer, BUZCA plans to continue expanding its regional reach. Its focus on subsea pipelines, combined with high standards in safety, quality and sustainability, reinforces its role as a strategic partner in Latin America's energy and port development.
