RESINEX takes its extreme flotation solutions to new markets

RESINEX, an Italian company with more than six decades of experience, reaffirms its leadership in flotation technology by presenting at the SLOM 2025 event, held in Panama City. In an interview with the Inspenet team, Mario Suardi, Project Manager of the company, shared details about its history, technical capabilities and expansion plans in the region.

Italian excellence with international projection

Founded in 1961 in the province of Brescia, RESINEX began its journey manufacturing small floats for fishing nets in lakes. Over time, its portfolio grew to encompass complex industrial solutions, such as mooring buoys, floats for oil and gas pipelines, and marker buoys for navigation.

The company produces all its components in Italy, from the rotationally molded polyethylene to the metal parts treated with special coatings. "Our process is 100% European. We design, manufacture and test everything in-house," Suardi said during the conversation.

Technology that defies the depths

One of RESINEX's most outstanding advances is the development of buoys filled with syntactic foam, a dual-component resin with microspheres that makes it possible to reach extreme depths. Thanks to this technology, the company was able to take an instrumental buoy to 11,500 meters in the Mariana Trench, in collaboration with the University of Denmark.

"Everything worked perfectly. The buoy was recovered in excellent condition, which confirms our ability to manufacture solutions for extreme conditions."

Heading to Latin America

The objective of participating in SLOM 2025 was not accidental. RESINEX already has clients in Panama and Central America, but is looking to strengthen its presence throughout the continent. "We want to connect with new customers in South America, Central America and North America. It is a very large market with many opportunities," Suardi said.

The company sees great potential in the Latin American energy sector, where demand for safe and resilient maritime infrastructure is growing steadily. Thanks to its global expertise and specialized manufacturing, RESINEX is positioned as a reliable supplier for offshore and port projects.
