Diana Shipping announced the signing of an agreement to sell the Ultramax m/v dry bulk carrier DSI Drammen. The transaction involves a limited partnership in which the company participates, and provides for the delivery of the vessel to an unaffiliated third party no later than October 31, 2025.

The m/v vessel DSI Drammen was built in 2016 and is part of a corporate structure where the shipping company owns a 25% stake, while the remaining 75% is owned by Ecobulk AS, a Norway-based firm. The company reported that this decision is aligned with its fleet renewal and optimization strategy.
Diana Shipping currently operates a diversified fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels, including Newcastlemax, Capesize, Post-Panamax, Kamsarmax, Panamax and Ultramax units. The total combined capacity of this fleet reaches 4.1 million deadweight tons, with a weighted average age of close to 12 years.
In addition to the sale of the Ultramax vessel, the shipping company plans to integrate two new Kamsarmax vessels between 2027 and 2028. These units will be powered by methanol and will feature dual-fuel technology, as part of the company’s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental compliance.
