With the recent RFNBO certification of three new plants in France and Germany, Lhyfe consolidates its position as a European benchmark in green hydrogen production. production of green hydrogen from water electrolysis.

Since obtaining RFNBO certification for its Bouin plant in May 2025, Lhyfe has continued its expansion with the accreditation of its facilities in Buléon (Brittany), Bessières (Occitania) and Schwäbisch Gmünd (Germany). These four plants have an installed capacity of 21 megawatts, with a potential production of up to 8.3 tons of green hydrogen per day.

The RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) certification guarantees that all production complies with the most stringent European Union environmental standards according to the RED III directive, ensuring full traceability and the exclusive use of renewable sources.

Decentralized hydrogen plants and regional coverage

Lhyfe has opted for a strategy of proximity to its customers, which is reflected in its network of distributed plants and one of the most advanced container fleets in Europe, consisting of almost 70 units. This infrastructure makes it possible to deliver hydrogen in bulk at competitive conditions and with logistical efficiency at different points on the continent.

Thanks to this decentralization, the company is prepared to supply both industry and the mobility sector with certified green hydrogen. Applications range from heavy-duty vehicle use to combustion testing, salt cavern storage and mixed boiler use.

Customer benefits and support for the energy transition

Have the RFNBO certification certification enables Lhyfe’s customers to access national and European incentive programs and subsidies. This positions the company as a key ally for companies seeking to meet the decarbonization targets set by the EU.

The certification process has been supported by specialized entities such as Atmen, which provides a compliance automation platform, and organizations such as CertifHy and TÜV SÜD, authorized by the European Commission to validate RFNBO standards. This support strengthens the technical credibility of Lhyfe’s operating model.
