SLB has signed a definitive agreement to acquire RESMAN Energy Technology, a firm recognized for its leadership in wireless reservoir monitoring solutions. This transaction strengthens SLB’s offerings by integrating advanced capabilities in reservoir surveillance and production optimization, key to the oil, gas, geothermal and carbon storage sectors.

A synergy that transforms reservoir monitoring

Thanks to its ultra-precision chemical tracers, RESMAN allows it to accurately track the movement of fluids such as water, gas, oil and CO₂ within wells and formations. This technology offers detection at parts-per-billion levels, allowing operators to identify unwanted producing zones and plan more efficient interventions.

For its part, SLB will provide its expertise in subsurface analysisdigital workflows and advanced sampling tools. The combination of these competencies will provide clients with faster and more reliable data to make strategic decisions.

Emerging applications, interoperability and closing of the agreement

In addition to traditional upstream operations, the integration of these technologies will be key in emerging applications such as CO₂ storage surveillance and monitoring of geothermal reservoirs. This expansion reinforces SLB’s position as a central player in energy transition solutions.

The acquisition aims to maintain independence in the choice of completion hardware, guaranteeing users the possibility of combining RESMAN tracers with equipment from different suppliers, without affecting monitoring efficiency.

The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized in early 2026. Once completed, SLB will add a high-value subsurface surveillance solution to its portfolio, raising the standard of monitoring across the industry.
