The French company GTT has been selected by Samsung Heavy Industries to design the containment system for the tanks of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks (LNG) tanks of a new floating unit (FLNG) that will operate in Africa.

The order was formalized during the third quarter of 2025, consolidating the technological cooperation between the South Korean shipyard and GTT. This FLNG unit will have a total storage capacity of 238,700 cubic meters and will be equipped with membrane technology. Mark IIImembrane technology, recognized for its efficiency in cryogenic systems.

The facility is destined to operate in a strategic African region, contributing to energy development through offshore solutions solutions that avoid dependence on onshore facilities. This configuration makes it possible to accelerate the production and export of LNG from coastal areas with limited infrastructure.

The partnership between GTT and Samsung Heavy Industries remains one of the most active in the LNG marine engineering sector. With this new order, GTT reinforces its role as a key supplier of technical solutions for floating units, providing expertise in containment and liquefaction design.

This order confirms the confidence of our long-standing partner and demonstrates how our technologies enable the establishment of reliable floating liquefaction capacities adapted to emerging markets.
