Gasum’s supply vessel, Coralius, has carried out its 1000th operation in the port of Kiel, Germany, consolidating its position as a key player in the maritime energy logistics of Northern Europe. During this maneuver, the cruise ship MSC Euribia was supplied with liquefied natural gas (LNG). liquefied natural gas (LNG) in a completely safe operational environment.
Eight years of the Coralius ship supplying clean energy
Since September 2017, the Coralius has distributed more than 270,000 metric tons of LNG to a wide range of vessels. The vessel, owned by Anthony Veder and Sirius Shipping, operates on a charter basis under Gasum, a Finnish company specializing in low-emission energy solutions.
As of August 2025, the Coralius began operating exclusively on liquefied biogas. liquefied biogas (bioGNL), in line with new European requirements such as FuelEU Maritime. This change enables the generation of sustainability credits that Gasum offers to shipowners through a pooling system.

Operating efficiency under extreme conditions
Designed with a 1A rating for ice, the Coralius was the first vessel purpose-built for LNG bunkering on receiving vessels. It is equipped to operate in demanding conditions, maintaining high standards of efficiency and safety during its maneuvers.
Both LNG and bioLNG have proven to be viable options for reducing emissions in shipping. emissions in maritime transport. On average, bioLNG offers up to 90% reduction in pollutant gas emissions over traditional fossil fuels such as MGO.
The new Celsius vessel
In response to the expected increase in demand for demand for bioLNG, Gasum has already chartered a new supply vessel, the Celsius, to begin operations in 2027.Gasum has already chartered a new supply vessel, the Celsius, which will begin operations in 2027. This new vessel will feature increased capacity, improved tank insulation and energy efficiency, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability in the industry.
Gasum thus reaffirms its role as a strategic supplier in the maritime energy transition, providing its customers with solutions that meet regulatory requirements and anticipate global climate goals.
