Imanol Garza Fernandez, Operations Manager of DEVOX, represented the Mexican company at LatinCORR 2025 in Panama, where he shared the pillars that are guiding its growth, technical quality, sustainability and specialization in industrial coatings. DEVOX is a 100% Mexican brand that operates together with General Paint, its line for architectural products, with a concentrated presence especially in the oil, mining and metallic structures industries, sectors where resistance, durability and regulatory compliance are essential.

The company is currently the largest direct supplier of coatings to Pemex and is expanding its operations into Central and South America. This regional growth strategy is based on a differentiated offering, based on sustainable technologies and solutions adapted to the most demanding industrial needs.

Technical solutions for extreme conditions

The company’s portfolio ranges from 100% solids epoxy coatings to polyurethanes, polyaspartics and fireproofing solutions. Many of these products are designed for demanding environments such as buried pipelines, fuel tanks or structures exposed to severe corrosion.

Each product goes through three stages of quality control, from receipt of raw materials to random inspections of the finished product, ensuring that each coating complies with ISO standards and is ready for extreme industrial conditions, including potable water applications.

Sustainability from design to transportation

One of the aspects highlighted by Fernandez was the company’s environmental commitment, which is aligned with the UN sustainability program and has implemented improvements in its plant and processes that reinforce its green profile:

  • Use of translucent solar panels on the north side of the factory to take advantage of natural light and generate clean energy.
  • Rainwater harvesting for reuse in product formulation
  • Development of a proprietary application to measure emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated by transportation, collaborators and internal processes.

Industrial recycling: a new frontier

One of the most ambitious projects that DEVOX is currently developing is the recovery of used aerosol containers, to close the cycle of use, since the company is a leader in the Mexican industrial aerosol market.

This circular model poses logistical challenges, especially in the end-user return phase, however, the company is already conducting pilot tests in some stores with high carbon footprints, which are also being equipped with solar panels as part of a comprehensive strategy.

Premium positioning and technical expertise

The company has managed to combine technical knowledge of industrial coatings with a premium brand approach. This has enabled it to stand out for both the quality of its products and its after-sales service, which is key in large-scale projects with high exposure to adverse conditions.

The company maintains a strong presence in the oil & gas sector and works closely with leading companies in Mexico, and through events such as LatinCORR, DEVOX is capitalizing on its national experience to position itself as a reliable supplier in new regional markets.

A technical and responsible vision of the future

For DEVOX, the future of industrial coatings is not just in strength or durability, but in how they integrate with an increasingly demanding regulatory and environmental environment. The combination of technology, clean processes and social commitment is making a tangible difference in the market.
