SPIE Group’s specialized high-voltage solutions subsidiary Wind Connect has secured a new contract with marine engineering firm Van Oord to execute activities at the Windanker offshore wind farm, located in German waters of the Baltic Sea.

This agreement represents the second collaboration between the two companies and involves the installation and testing of 21 66 kV inter-array cables(IAC), which are essential to link the turbines to the marine substation. marine substation. The Windankerwind farm, with a projected installed capacity of 315 megawatts, is designed to supply more than 300,000 households with renewable electricity. The tasks assigned to SPIE Wind Connect are essential to ensure the power flow between the wind turbines and the offshore evacuation infrastructure.
The project adds to the growing portfolio of offshore installations in Europe, and he mentioned for its focus on medium-voltage technologies, such as 66 kilovolt cables, which optimize efficiency in power transmission.
