Corrosion on galvanized steel continues to be a problem for many industrial sectors. Although zinc provides a layer of protection, the passage of time and environmental exposure lead to the appearance of white and red rust. To counteract this problem, NEI Corporation has developed NANOMYTE TC-5001 coating, a single-component solution that acts as a durable physical barrier.
Corrosion protection of NANOMYTE TC-5001
This nanotechnology-based clear coating based on nanotechnology can be applied by dipping, spraying or brushing and forms a dense layer that blocks contact between metal and moisture. In addition, its formula improves the adhesion of paints, preventing the usual flaking of galvanized parts. For example, TC-5001 coating stands out for its versatility of use in demanding conditions, as it is compatible with painted or unpainted metal surfaces.
This technology can be applied in conjunction with the self-healing pretreatment NANOMYTE PT-100, providing more robust corrosion protection. This combination has shown superior results in salt spray tests(SST, ASTM B117): parts treated with TC-5001 maintain their integrity after more than 1000 hours without white rust and exceed 1200 hours without red rust.
The industries benefited include electrical infrastructure, urban lighting, agricultural machinery, automotive and metal components exposed to aggressive climates. Through its chemical resistance and its stable behavior in real field conditions, TC-5001 represents a solid alternative to traditional coatings.
In addition, its customization capabilities allow the formulation to be tailored to specific customer requirements in terms of both thickness and application method. This makes it a flexible and scalable solution within NEI’s portfolio of advanced technical coatings.
