Seaturns, a company specialized in wave energy, has just secured 2.45 million euros in financing. This capital was raised mainly through the Keenest platform, oriented towards climate initiatives, and was backed by Team For The Planet, individual investors and new shareholders such as Lawrence Sigaud, the company’s deputy CEO.

A real demonstrator in wave energy

With this infusion of funds, Seaturns will be able to complete the development of its full-scale demonstrator at the Sem-Rev Sea test site. Sem-Revmarine test site, scheduled for the summer of 2025. This prototype will allow to validate in real conditions the energy efficiency and robustness of its wave harvesting system.

In addition, the financing will enable the industrialization phase to begin, with a view to mass producing the units and establishing an optimized supply chain for their deployment in different regions of the world. International marketing is also a priority in this new phase.

The Seaturns system uses a water pendulum principle to convert wave motion into a wave motion into clean electricity. into clean electricity. The technology has been designed to withstand extreme marine conditions, maintain low operating costs and facilitate rapid installation. This prototype, previously validated for 18 months at Ifremer’s Brest facility, demonstrated its technical feasibility and production efficiency.

Since its founding in 2015 by Vincent Tournerie, Seaturns has received support from entities such as Bpifrance, the Horizon Europe program, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and test site operators such as Open-C. This support network has been instrumental in advancing from initial research to the current industrial readiness phase.
