SRE entrusts CWP with offshore foundations for Formosa 4 wind farm

Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE) has selected Century Wind Power (CWP) as the primary foundation supplier for its Formosa 4 offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Miaoli County.

The contract includes the supply of 35 jacket foundations for wind turbines for wind turbines, as well as the integral management of the foundation package. This choice also demonstrates SRE’s commitment to strengthening its network of local and international suppliers.

Local coordination and regional integration

Century Wind Power will lead the technical and logistical coordination, integrating Taiwanese manufacturing capabilities Taiwanese manufacturing capabilities with international resources from the Asia-Pacific region. The main objective is to meet the established deadlines for grid connection and ensure the quality of the structures, in line with industry standards.

Lucas Lin, president of SRE, emphasized that this collaboration with a domestic supplier represents much more than regulatory compliance.

The Project Formosa 4 was awarded 495 MW of capacity in the first round of Phase 3 auctions, held in 2022, and was the first to receive a permit to establish by the end of 2024. SRE plans to start construction activities within the regulatory schedule, making Formosa 4 a benchmark for future developments.

For his part, CWP President Wen-Hsiang Lai stressed that the contract consolidates the company’s years of investment and validates its ability to lead the fabrication and assembly of critical structures at its local facilities.
