From June 9 to 12, Niagara Falls was the setting for the VIII Pan-American Congress on Non-Destructive Testing, better known as PANNDT 2025, a high-level technical event that brought together experts, companies and representatives from all over the continent around innovation and knowledge in NDT.
In this edition, the Canadian Institute for Non-Destructive Evaluation (CINDE) took on the organizational challenge with excellence, demonstrating why it is one of the most respected organizations in the sector, providing an impeccable logistical space and a technical program up to the highest international standards.
International participation and acknowledgments
During the closing ceremony, the organizers extended special thanks to the more than 100 exhibitors, institutional representatives, technical committees, volunteers and attendees who made the event possible. The 2025 edition was attended by delegations from the Americas, Europe and Asia, highlighting the presence of countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia and the United States, which reflected an environment of cooperation and global diversity around nondestructive testing.
Leadership that made the event possible
From Inspenet we would like to express our special recognition to those whose dedication and leadership made the difference in this edition. First, Glenn Tubbrett, president of CINDE, whose vision drove an enriching experience both technically and humanly.
We would also like to thank Ed Cabral, instructor, university professor and business development manager, for his dedication to training new talent and strengthening the link between academia and industry. We also highlight Wendy Hines, CINDE’s test center supervisor, for her impeccable coordination of the technical operations and live demonstrations that enriched the experience for all attendees.
An active and generous technical community
During the days of the event, the technical agenda included more than 50 lectures, with special attention to topics such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, automated inspection, and applications in industries such as the heritage, energy, and manufacturing. One of the activities that captured the attention of attendees was the Ultrasonics Ace competition, where young professionals demonstrated their skills in real-time ultrasonic testing.
In addition, there was a technical visit to the Niagara Parks Power Plant, which offered an immersive experience combining industrial heritage and modern technology. The closing of the event was capped off with an International Gala at the Avalon Theatre, where more than 1,500 people enjoyed an evening of networking, music and cultural exchange.
The willingness of these companies to share knowledge and exchange ideas reinforces the value of this type of meeting, where technology, innovation and peer-to-peer dialogue become drivers of evolution for the entire sector.

Youth as the backbone of the future NDT
One of the central messages of the closing ceremony was the call to train a new generation of specialists in Non Destructive Testing. The organizing committee stressed the importance of integrating young people, not only as spectators, but also as protagonists of technological transformations, highlighting the role of technical education as a driver of continuity and excellence.
It was emphasized that innovation in the industry is not possible without a solid base of emerging talent, and the contribution of students and new professionals was recognized throughout the congress.
