PetroReconcavo expands its midstream presence with strategic purchase in Guamaré

PetroReconcavo has acquired 50% of two natural gas processing units (NGPPUs) in Guamaré, in a transaction valued at US$ 65 million, consolidating its commitment to the natural gas sector. natural gas and onshore infrastructure.

The operation involves two plants with a combined processing capacity of 3 million cubic meters per day. In addition, it includes ancillary infrastructure and a key pipeline for the connection between PetroReconcavo’s production fields and Brava Energia. This structure strengthens PetroReconcavo’s verticalization, improving efficiency throughout the gas chain.

Payment terms and regulation

The financial schedule establishes that 10% was paid at the signing of the agreement, while 25% is subject to CADE’s approval. Another 50% will be paid at the closing of the deal and the remaining 15% will be disbursed as the real estate transfer progresses. The Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) will govern the shared management, with Brava remaining as operator of the assets.

A gas sales contract between the two companies establishes that PetroReconcavo will supply rich gas to Brava for six years. The volume will increase progressively until 2030, which provides stability and predictability in the operation.

The role of natural gas in the PetroReconcavo strategy

José Firmo, CEO of PetroReconcavo, emphasized that the acquisition strengthens the infrastructure of the Brazilian onshore sector. The company had already taken a first step in this direction with the inauguration of the UTG São Roque in 2024. For his part, João Vitor Moreira, VP of New Businesses, highlighted the capacity to process 100% of the expected volumes of production volumes and the fundamental role of gas as an engine of growth.

The entry into Guamaré also represents an opportunity to expand alliances in the free gas market, where PetroReconcavo is already developing mechanisms such as portals for spot offers and commercial structures adapted to the sector’s new regulatory framework.
