Estonia-based Marketex Offshore Constructions has completed the delivery of ten subsea templates for the Aker BP-operated Yggdrasil project in the North Sea. This delivery consolidates a series of operations started in 2024, in which six previous units had been shipped.
The symbolic handover ceremony took place at the Marketex facilities and was attended by the Norwegian Ambassador to Estonia, Marius Dirdal. The templates are already sailing to Norway, marking a technical milestone in subsea engineering applied to the offshore energy sector. offshore energy sector.
Fabrication and delivery of underwater structures
The Yggdrasil project project involves close collaboration between Marketex Offshore Constructions, Aker Solutions, OneSubsea and Aker BP ASA. The fabrication and delivery of these critical subsea production structures is the result of a technical synergy between multiple key players in the European offshore sector.
The delivery is part of a broader set of 18 templates developed by Marketex for global customers, reinforcing the company’s strategic position within the subsea infrastructure market.
Yggdrasil: energy expansion in Norwegian waters
Located between the Alvheim and Oseberg fields, Yggdrasil comprises the Hugin, Fulla and Munin licenses. Approved by the Norwegian Parliament in 2023, the project is progressing with key milestones including the cutting of the first steels at Stord and the initial installation of the templates.
Aker BP, together with Equinor and PGNiG Upstream Norway, is leading this initiative that seeks to consolidate new sources of extraction with state-of-the-art technology in one of the most demanding offshore environments on the continent.
