CMA CGM and Saigon Newport to launch new terminal project in Hai Phong

The company has established a solid operational base with offices in major cities and a network of maritime services.

The CMA CGM Group has signed a strategic agreement with Saigon Newport Corporation(SNP) for the development of new terminal project. The partnership involves the design, construction and operation of terminals 7 and 8 at Lach Huyen, a strategic area in northern Vietnam, specifically in Hai Phong.

Terminal project will strengthen regional connectivity

This development has an estimated investment of US$600 million, and responds to the rapid increase in demand in North Vietnam. The terminal will have a handling capacity of 1.9 million TEUs and is scheduled to start operations in 2028. This new site will strengthen the group’s intermodal logistics network, which it integrates with CEVA Logistics ‘ nationwide coverage.

Operator Saigon Newport joins CMA CGM in this initiative to improve maritime infrastructure and offer competitive services. SNP “s local expertise and CMA CGM” s global reach will enable an efficient operation adapted to the demands of international trade.

Since its arrival in the country in 1989, CMA CGM has established a solid operational base with offices in major cities and a network of maritime services connecting seven domestic ports to global routes.

In addition to its participation in the Gemalink Terminal and the Vietnam International Container Terminal, this new project reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable and competitive development of the region.
