NORDEN signs contract for new logistics project in Australia

The company will deploy iron ore transshipment assets at the port of Wyndham.

With the backing of its dry bulk customer, Kimberley Metals Group(KMG), NORDEN has formalized an agreement to operate in the far north of Western Australia. This logistics project includes the loading of iron ore from port to barge and from barge to ocean vessel, securing the entire supply chain.

This development is part of the company’s strategy to offer ever deeper port logistics solutions for its mining sector companies, certifying safe procedures and strengthening its global presence with tailor-made services.

From its headquarters in Denmark, the shipping company is committed to adapting its business model to markets with high logistics potential. On this occasion, the Australian region becomes the new epicenter of an operation that combines infrastructure, transportation and operational experience.

The new agreement is a natural next step in NORDEN’s strategic path within logistics, serving customers at a deeper level and becoming even more relevant to them, continuously utilizing the strong synergies between NORDEN’s integrated freight solutions.

The contract includes a fixed-term charter agreement with the possibility of extension, ensuring operational continuity. In addition, the first barge is expected to enter service in July, thus initiating cargo operations. loading and transshipment and transshipment operations from the port of Wyndham.

This model has been tested by the company since 2022 in Gabon with the mining company Comilog, and is emerging as a scalable solution for other markets with similar needs.
