In an event that brought together the main companies in the energy sector, the creation of the Andalusian Biomethane Business Cluster was formalized. The new organization brings together companies such as AGR Biogás, Ence, Inerco, Magtel, Moeve, Naturgy, Nortegas Renovables, Redexis and Vorn, with the aim of leading the development of biomethane as a strategic source in Andalusia.

The Cluster plans to install more than 100 biomethane production plants biomethane production plants production plants over the next five years. These facilities will represent a combined investment of more than 2,500 million euros and the creation of up to 1,500 direct jobs. Their implementation responds to a strategy that seeks to improve organic waste management through valorization processes, in line with the principles of the circular economy.
The event was attended by the Secretary General of Energy, Manuel Larrasa, who emphasized the value of public-private collaboration to consolidate this initiative. He also mentioned the role that these plants will have in rural areas, allowing industrial growth aligned with the territory and generating sustainable opportunities for inland Andalusia.
As a whole, the cluster represents more than 80% of the biomethane projects currently in the pipeline in the region. The intention of the founding members is to establish a solid business ecosystem, capable of promoting technical and legal regulations that facilitate the development of the sector, while promoting public awareness of its environmental benefits.
In the coming weeks, the Andalusian Biomethane Cluster will announce its strategic roadmap. In addition, the first sectorial working groups will be formed, whose objective will be to stimulate innovation, foster new alliances and promote Andalusia as a national and international reference in biomethane production and consumption.
