API Spring Meeting 2025 moves forward: industry leaders refine standards for the energy industry

More than 40 exhibiting companies will participate in the event.

Since May 5, the most relevant technical event in the downstream sector has been taking place: the API Spring Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting 2025, organized by the American Petroleum Institute ( API). This meeting brings together engineers, technical experts and representatives of leading companies from around the world and will be held until May 9 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.

The event discusses and refines the technical standards that govern safety, reliability and mechanical integrity of industrial facilities worldwide, under the coordination of the Committee on Refining Equipment (CRE), which is responsible for more than 220 fundamental API standards.

The event is in full swing with simultaneous meetings of technical subcommittees, addressing strategic issues such as:

  • Heat transfer, valves and pressure systems.
  • Inspection, materials, refractories and corrosion control.
  • Instrumentation, technical data and operational reliability.

These technical sessions serve as a platform to review standards that support the API ICP and PSSAP programs and ensure that the industry operates under up-to-date, safe and internationally recognized guidelines.

High-level exchange and technology showcase

The event also includes a technical exhibition area with more than 40 companies presenting state-of-the-art solutions in inspection, monitoring, advanced materials, industrial software and more. Firms such as Becht, Alleima, IGS, Voith Turboamong others are already showing their innovations to the attendees.

Participating in this meeting allows attendees to obtain professional development hours (PDH) valid for maintaining technical certifications, in addition to expanding collaboration networks and keeping up to date with the challenges and technological advances in the sector.
