What began as a need detected in the field, evolved into a company specializing in industrial tank cleaning, API 653 certified repair and a solid work safety system. Since its founding in Baton Rouge in 1988, StreamTech Industrial has consolidated its presence in the energy industry, offering comprehensive solutions for storage tank maintenance. During a recent interview with Clyde Likens, the company’s Vice President of Business Development, the Inspenet team was able to learn more about the company’s strategy.
Specialized services with technical certification
StreamTech distinguishes itself by covering the entire tank work cycle, from initial cleaning, isolation, to complete restoration for reintegration into operations. This chain of services includes interventions such as high pressure washing, use of vacuum systems (back truck) and, when required by the project, abrasive sandblasting for subsequent inspections. These tasks are executed following rigorous protocols and under the certifications required for the maintenance of structures in accordance with the standard API 653.
Operational safety and continuous training at the core
One of the pillars of StreamTech’s philosophy is safety, being the fundamental basis of its permanence in the sector for more than 35 years. According to Clyde, this aspect is key not only to meet customer requirements, but also to ensure the integrity of the technical team in every working day.
On the other hand, to guarantee the quality of service, StreamTech constantly invests in technical training, both in internal courses and those required by its customers in the oil sector. Each technician goes through different phases of training before joining field projects. One of the current challenges is the retention of young talent, especially due to the itinerant nature of the work. Even so, the company has managed to maintain a solid base of personnel thanks to its culture of training and professional growth.

An expanding market with constant challenges
Despite the ups and downs inherent to the sector, the tank maintenance industry has shown signs of sustained growth over the past year and a half, driven in part by fluctuations in crude oil prices. This favorable environment has allowed StreamTech to expand its operations without losing focus on its commitment to technical excellence and guaranteed safety.
