With the goal of promoting the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, Greening USA has established a strategic alliance with Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure to develop an ambitious portfolio of solar and storage projects in the U.S. market.
A 1,000 MWAC portfolio marks the start of the collaboration
The joint venture is launching with an initial portfolio of approximately 1,000 MWac in solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems ( BESS ) projects . These projects will be located in the MISO South and SPP regions, two key markets in the U.S. electricity system. While Greening contributes the projects, Atlantica will provide the necessary financial backing.
The projects developed will combine photovoltaic and storage technologies, or operate separately depending on local conditions. This flexibility will allow them to adapt to energy demand and support grid stability in a context of increasing electrification.
Greening, which has consolidated its position as a key player in the sector since joining BME Growth, sees this alliance as a decisive step in accelerating its expansion plan in the United States. For its part, Atlantica contributes its experience in investing in and managing sustainable infrastructure to ensure the viability of projects through to the construction phase.
Accelerating the deployment of renewable energy
Both companies have agreed that once the Ready to Build (RtB) phase is reached, they will jointly decide whether to retain the assets or transfer them to third parties. This flexible approach results in more efficient execution, with faster timelines and optimized financing.
The alliance also responds to the need to meet local decarbonization goals. Integrating battery solutions into projects will help better manage the intermittency of renewable sources and ensure a more stable supply of clean energy .
Both Greening and Atlantica have expressed their intention to continue exploring new opportunities to expand the joint venture. With rising energy demand and a market conducive to sustainable investment, this alliance promises to set a trend in the deployment of clean energy in the United States.
