Poland’s offshore wind energy industry has just received a significant boost with the Baltic Power offshore wind farm. This project, based on a collaboration between ORLEN and Northland Power , has achieved the first design conformity certificates for its offshore turbines and substations.

Obtaining the certificates paves the way for the wind farm’s construction phase . According to the Maritime Safety Law and the Law for the Promotion of Electricity Generation from Offshore Wind Farms , these certificates must be submitted before construction work begins, ensuring compliance with international safety and operating regulations.
We are proud to be the first offshore wind farm project in Poland to successfully complete this process.

The certification validates the turbine and substation designs , while ensuring that the wind farm can operate in the local Baltic Sea conditions throughout its entire lifespan. This process is overseen by DNV , an international certification body that ensures compliance with international standards.

With the design conformity certificates obtained, the project now moves into the construction phase, where DNV will closely oversee manufacturing, installation, and operational start-up activities to ensure that all phases of the project are carried out to the highest safety and quality standards.
