Ocean energy company Minesto has been selected to participate in the Global Innovation Accelerator (GIA) program, an initiative of the Swedish Energy Agency in collaboration with Business Sweden. This program seeks to boost the internationalization of innovative companies that contribute to the global energy transition .
Boosting Asian expansion
Minesto’s objective within the GIA program is to strengthen its position in the Asian market. The initiative offers selected companies a support framework that includes market research, certification assistance, participation in key industry events, and access to strategic investors.
The Swedish Energy Agency designed this accelerator to facilitate the entry of sustainable technologies into international markets. Lasting up to 18 months, the program provides customized tools for business development and commercial expansion.

Minesto has established itself as a leader in the development of ocean energy, a technology that harnesses ocean currents to generate electricity sustainably. With this support, the company seeks to strengthen its presence in Asia and open up new opportunities for collaboration with local entities.

Minesto has promoted the creation of the first tidal farm in the Faroe Islands using its Dragon 12 technology. This device, designed to harness ocean currents, is an important step in the transition to a 100% renewable energy system, contributing to the region’s energy sustainability.
