OceanSTAR Elite Group has commenced construction of its floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit for the Lac Da Vang oilfield, with a steel-cutting ceremony held on February 22, 2025 at the Nantong Strongwind shipyard in China.
The event was attended by representatives from PTSC Asia Pacific, Murphy Cuu Long Bak Oil Company, Titan Wind Offshore and ABS. The ceremony marks the beginning of a crucial stage for the development of the Lac Da Vang oil field, with a planned storage capacity of 460,000 barrels.
Technology and innovation at FSO Lac Da Vang
The FSO is designed under the EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) model, ensuring the integration of advanced technologies. In addition, associated gas will be used to optimize energy circulation and reduce operating costs, setting an ecological standard for the offshore industry.
The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2026 , with the aim of improving the operational efficiency of the oil field. OceanSTAR Elite Group has highlighted the collaboration with PTSC, Murphy Oil and Titan Wind Offshore as key to the success of the project.
