Edison Next, a company specialising in energy solutions and a subsidiary of the EDISON group and the French multinational EDF , has completed the installation of a 6,000 m² photovoltaic plant at the Faerch facilities in Buñol, Valencia. This project, which has a capacity of 1,271 kWp, will allow the packaging company to reduce its dependence on the electricity grid through solar self-consumption.
Faerch’s photovoltaic plant and economic savings
Thanks to this renewable energy infrastructure, Faerch will be able to generate 1,612 MWh per year , which will cover approximately 9.5% of its energy demand. This commitment to efficiency will reduce the carbon footprint by 533 tons of CO 2 per year, which is equivalent to planting 1,761 trees annually.
From a financial point of view, the photovoltaic installation will allow Faerch to save 29% in energy costs from the first year, which translates into a reduction of 54,192 euros per year . Over time, the profitability of the solar plant will increase, reaching an estimated saving of 173,770 euros per year after 16 years of operation. In the long term, after 25 years, the company will have accumulated a total saving of 2,963,693 euros.
It is important to mention that Edison Next will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the facility, ensuring its efficiency and operation over time. The incorporation of cutting-edge materials in the construction of the plant guarantees its performance and durability.
A sustainable energy model
The initiative is aligned with global energy transition objectives, promoting the use of renewable energy in the industrial sector.
The good synergy of this collaboration is reflected in the results obtained, since the initial photovoltaic project has been a success and has generated tangible benefits for our company.
said Manuel Villena Badía, head of the Buñol Faerch Industry.
