Valmet supplies automation for cable laying vessels for Jan De Nul

Valmet has secured a new order for the implementation of its marine methanol control system on two cable-laying vessels for engineering company Jan De Nul . This order is placed through partner China Merchants Industry Digital Technology , who will act as intermediary for the integration of the system on the vessels to be built at the China Merchants Heavy Industry ( Jiangsu ) shipyard in China.

The new order includes the supply of an advanced methanol control system and a methanol safety system with over 1000 inputs/outputs ( I/O ). This system has four communication and remote access ports, ensuring high flexibility and real-time operability. In addition, the safety system meets the rigorous SIL2 requirements , ensuring reliability and compliance with international safety standards for operating in maritime environments.

Jan De Nul , known for its innovative approach to construction and dredging projects, has once again relied on Valmet’s expertise for this project. The company’s vision is complemented by this development, contributing to the company’s low-carbon and green operating model.
